This Persian rug has a wool foundation and a wool pile. It has a standard 110 knots per square inch.
Bonat rugs are tribal pieces weaved within the province of Shiraz in south central Iran. Bonat pieces often have much thicker piles than other tribal pieces using much softer, fine quality wool. The dyes used in colouring Bonat rugs are also much richer and darker when compared to other tribal pieces. The piece uses a simple geometric design with rich reds, dark navy blues and creams similar typical in Bonat pieces.
