This Afghan rug has a cotton foundation and a wool pile. It has a standard 110 knots per square inch.
Weaved in Afghanistan but, using traditional Persian designs from an area known as “Farahan”; the rugs use a two toned colour scheme.
This piece has a soft allover colouration of with a deep almost golden beige used to varying degrees for highlighting and stylising both the interior and surrounding border. The main background offsets this with a plum, blue that works harmoniously against the highlighting. Its traditional floral pattern that is repeated throughout is accented by reds and yellows.
