This rug is perfect for anyone looking to add a touch of vintage charm to their rooms. The classical design, and rich autumn colours in this rug perfectly capture the aesthetic of the world’s most renowned antique pieces.
Produced in India using delicately hand spun wool, natural dyes and hand-knotted by highly skilled rug weavers.
The inspiration for the design of this rug comes from Heriz, a town in the north west of Iran, not far from the city of Tabriz. Heriz rugs are often indicated by their large central geometric medallion. The medallions often take up most of the space of the rug, while smaller floral motifs fill the rest of the interior field, and are the pattern used for the border.
This piece uses the typical Heriz design, but uses an autumnal colour palette. The mustard yellow background of the piece really makes the design stand out, and it is beautifully contrasted by the softer blues in centre of the medallion and corners. Cream is used for the background of the border with reds, greens and yellow used to detail the floral motifs.
