This Persian rug has a wool foundation and a wool pile. It has a standard 110 knots per square inch.
Lori rugs are exceptionally hard to come by due to their rarity and nomadic nature of their weavers. Made by the Lori tribe, these pieces share many of the Caucasian designs that Qashqai, Bonat and Iman Lo rugs have. The Lori rugs are often sought after due to the superiority of the wool used from the sheep the tribes people keep. The dyes used are also much richer than other tribal pieces, creating rugs with a much more vibrant colour scheme. This piece has a bright red background with a large, navy blue central geometric medallion.
