This Persian rug has a cotton foundation and a wool pile. It has a standard 110 knots per square inch.
Persian Tajabad rugs are by far some of the most decorative village rugs to be found. Tajabad is a village in north western Iran and although drawing heavily from the designs of neighbouring cities, the weavers still manage to create pieces that are both original and stylish.
The dark rich reds and purples found in the border and throughout the pattern in this piece are laid out wonderfully on the cream background. The peach medallion in the centre adds another degree of warmth to the piece.
