This Persian rug has a wool foundation and a wool pile. It has a standard 110 knots per square inch.
The Iman Lo is made within the province of Shiraz in a village of the same name. The people who live in the village are settled nomadic people related to the Qashqai. The designs of these rugs are often very similar to other tribal pieces but, the quality of the wool and dyes used is of much softer and finer quality. This piece displays three lions the depiction of which is quite stunning. often with tribal pieces the faces of animals are often poorly handled but, with this piece they have been brought to life beautifully.
