Although weaved just a few years ago, this rug is perfect for anyone looking to add a touch of vintage charm to their rooms. The classical design, and rich autumn colours in this rug perfectly capture the aesthetic of the world’s most renowned antique pieces.
Produced in India using delicately hand spun wool, natural dyes and hand-knotted by highly skilled rug weavers.
The inspiration for the design of this rug are the traditional Varamin carpets that were weaved in the city of Varamin, in north central Iran. The rugs make use of the Mina Khani design which is a mixture of traditional all-over Persian floral and vase designs.
The rich blue colouring of the background found in this piece, is typical of most Varamin rugs. Soft yellows, reds, greens and browns are used to add detail to the floral motifs in the centre and border of the rug.
