The Kurdi Quchan rug is famous amongst tribal pieces. these rugs are hand-knotted by Kurdish peoples in a village named Quchan in the Khorasan province in the north east of Iran. The wool of these pieces is made extremely soft and coloured using natural vegetable dyes. The designs of Kurdi Quchan pieces are similar to the Caucasian designs found within other tribal rugs. The rug has a rich, dark red background with golds, blues and greens used to highlight the design. The rug has a medium length pile.
